We offer a comprehensive array of services that allows us to restore your mouth to health and to improve your smile.  These include: 

Pedodontic Care

ADK Dental’s goal for our children is no cavities ever.  We use the “4 point program” which includes diet control, brushing and flossing, sealants and fluoride (systemic and topical).  To accomplish this we start child visits at age one.  The kids start out in our prevention room where we begin with basic oral hygiene instruction.  Techniques include a brushing and flossing demonstration, self-cleaning once disclosed (temporary stain that shows us where the sticky bacterial plaque is) and removal of any residual bacteria.  An examination and diet survey is done by Dr. Dean and then a fluoride treatment is given. 
Once the permanent teeth are in our patients will see one of our hygienists. 

Periodontal Care
The hygienists are trained in periodontal disease prevention techniques.  will accomplish a thorough exam to include an oral cancer screening, cavity detection, bacteria removal and periodontal (gum) exam.  We offer extensive periodontal care because attaining periodontal health is our #1 goal.  Recent studies have linked chronic periodontal infections to coronary artery disease.  To cure periodontal disease we use everything from cleanings to bone regeneration surgery.  Our hygienists do a full mouth periodontal examination in which every tooth is probed at every cleaning.  If periodontal infection is present than we use a multitude of techniques to cure this infection.  Initially, home care supplies will be dispensed along with an antiseptic.  If necessary, a bacteriologic culture may need to be done along with the use of antibiotics.  Depending on the healing response, additional treatment may further be needed.  In patients with infection, a more frequent monitoring and cleaning will be scheduled.

Cosmetic 
We provide a complete range of cosmetic dental treatments including plastic or porcelain veneers, bonded resin fillings, porcelain crowns and periodontal plastic surgery.  Our computer analysis system will show you how your smile can look before we start.

Restorative
We offer composite “tooth colored” fillings, amalgam “silver” fillings, or lab-made fillings constructed of porcelain or gold.  We are adept at doing “metal free” restorations and using the latest porcelains for a natural lifelike appearance.  We can replace missing teeth with all porcelain or porcelain fused to gold bridges.

Root Canal Therapy
Endodontic (root canal) therapy allows us to save otherwise hopeless abcessed teeth.  Once diagnosed we treat everything from an emergency toothache to surgical endodontics.  Using the latest techniques, we can usually complete RCT painlessly in one visit.

Implants
Crowns and conventional bridges or dentures my not be your only options when replacing missing teeth.  For some people, dental implants offer a smile that looks and feels very natural.  Surgically placed below the gums, implants fuse to the jawbone and serve as a base for individual replacement teeth, bridges or a denture.  Dr. Cook is one of only a few dentists who are trained to insert and restore implants.  We have been placing implants for over 20 years.

Oral Surgery/Wisdom Teeth Extractions
We offer a broad range of oral surgical service including routine and impacted wisdom teeth removal, soft tissue lesion removal, periodontal surgery, endodontic surgery and implant surgery.  We offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) as a relaxant during surgery.

Orthodontics
We provide limited orthodontics treatment including up-righting tipped teeth, uncrowding anterior teeth and correcting crossbites in young patients.

Dentures/Partials
We offer a full range of full denture and partial denture services.  We utilize the “Turbyfil” technique for full denture construction, and the “Equipoise” partial denture technique.  Our in house lab allows us to do denture repairs quickly.

Whitening
We offer in-office custom made whitening trays.  The whitening material penetrates and lifts away surface stains.  One can make a memorable impression every time you smile.  Clinical studies show that whitening teeth under supervision of a dentist is much more effective than over the counter products.

Infection Control
Adirondack Dental Health team members understand and follow all CDC/OSHA Regulations for Infection Control.  They include steam sterilization of all instruments, disinfection of all surfaces of the operatory after every patient and discarding any disposable instruments/items used that cannot be sterilized.  Utilization of “no touch” lights, chairs, and barriers are used in this office to prevent cross-contamination.  Our autoclave sterilizer is monitored by spore testing weekly to insure sterility.

Sleep Apnea
We use the “Tap II” appliance to treat moderate sleep apnea without the use of CPAP.

Migraine
We treat migraines with the NTI TSS appliance that suppresses facial muscle tension and clenching.
